“Lucic Prigrevica” A.D. Novi Sad

“Lucic Prigrevica” A.D. Novi Sad, branch “Lucic Prigrevica Agrar” is producer of field crops and vegetables. It was founded in 1950. Headquarter and machine poll are situated in village Prigrevica 11 kilometers to the south-west from city Apatin.

In 2009, company “Lucic Prigrevica” ad Novi Sad has founded vegetable production on more than 800 hectares, and individually has become the biggest producer of consume vegetable in Republic of Serbia. Beside vegetable, large area is under seed corn.

The basic potential of “Lucic Prigrevica” ad company is its exceptionally fertile land, on approximately 2200 ha, that are situated near by canal system Danube-Tisa-Danube (DTD). Land property is grouped into relatively large complexes, that together with proximity of DTD system enable easier irrigation. Large land complexes also enable better technology application and foundation of seed production as it is possible to create insulation belts. Beside these benefits, whole area is elevated in relation to under-ground waters that minimize flood risk.

Soil analysis shows that 70% of the land is of the chernozem type, first class (the most fertile plough-land in Europe), while the rest of the soil is alluvial type of chernozem, the second class, with high potential fertility and somewhat lighter structure, which is ideal for vegetable growing.

At the moment in company are employed 68 people. In fields are engaged 31 permanently employed workers, and among them are one crop field engineer, one engineer for plant protection, two graduated agriculture technologists, and four agriculture technicians.
